Huge Powerball jackpot up for grabs Monday night

With no winner in the latest drawing, the Powerball grand prize will be worth a projected $670 million (lump-sum cash payout $474.8 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Monday. The amount carried over since no one hit all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $635 million jackpot Saturday night. The numbers drawn Saturday night, October 2nd, 2021 were 28, 38, 42, 47, 52 with Power Ball 01. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 38 draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in , matched all six numbers for a $31.00 million top prize.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single second prize winner from Saturday night's drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers but not the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in Massachusetts won $1 million cash.
Additional prizes won Saturday night included 66 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. There were 11 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Additional prizes won Saturday evening included 1612 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $100. 375 additional players not just matched 4 white ball, but additionally bought the Power Play option, double the prizes to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Saturday night included 3848 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 815 additional tickets of this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
There were 246,524 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were nine lucky New Yorkers matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. America's favorite Powerball game can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 then pick a Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball grand prize is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years. Winners may select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
