Powerball jackpot moves to $68 million Saturday night; Two players won the second prize

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune is going to be up for grabs on Saturday, when Powerball lottery has $68 million on the line. The cash value will be an estimated $55.6 million. Powerball's grand prize rose because no one matched all 6 winning numbers drawn Wednesday night. The winning numbers from Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 drawing were 07, 08, 35, 50, 65 and Powerball was 20. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 24 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a $70.00 million top prize.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, Powerball had some big winners. There were two second prize winners from Wednesday night's drawing, matching the first five white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Minnesota won $1,000,000 cash. The other 1 second prize winner(s) from New Jersey also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other major winners Wednesday night included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 1 additional players not just matched 4+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 21,210 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. One ticket sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will receive $10,000 cash. There were 42 lucky New Yorkers won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. There were 1 lucky New Yorkers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With 9 different ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 337,333 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game.
