The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $363 million

The Powerball lottery jackpot has jumped up to an estimated $363 million (lump-sum cash payout $279.2 million) for the next drawing in the multistate lottery game Wednesday night. The jackpot amount has been carried over because no player hit all six winning numbers to take the $341 million grand prize Saturday night. The winning numbers from Saturday, December 26th, 2020 drawing were 10, 24, 27, 35, 53 and Powerball number was 18.
While the jackpot was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were five tickets that matched the first five white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(1), North Carolina(1) and Texas(1) will collect $1,000,000 cash. The other two second prize winner(s) from Kentucky(1) and Texas(1) also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
In addition, 22 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 4 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 61,120 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. 2 tickets sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers in addition to the Powerball. These lucky ticket holders will receive $10,000 cash each. 137 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. There were 19 lucky New Yorkers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine different prize levels, there were 942,150 tickets across the nation won a total of $0 prizes in the Saturday, December 26th, 2020 drawing.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game. Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Powerball uses a 5/69+1/26 matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $2.
