Wednesday's Powerball jackpot leaps to $454 million; 2 second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in the Powerball multistate lottery game keeps increasing and is going to be up to an estimated $454 million for the next drawing on Wednesday. The cash value stands at $271.9 million. The amount was rolled over because no player matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number to win the $421 million jackpot Monday night. The numbers from Monday, April 25th, 2022 drawing were 12-18-20-39-61 and Powerball was 10. The Powerball grand prize has been growing for 126 draws since Wednesday, June 16th, 2021. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in , matched all six numbers for a $31.00 million top prize.
While there was no grand prize winner Monday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were 2 2nd prize winners from Monday night's drawing, matching the first 5 lotto numbers except the Powerball number. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Texas will collect 1 million dollar cash. The other one second prize winner(s) from North Carolina also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Additional prizes won Monday night included 23 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 5 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
With nine different prize levels, the Monday night's drawing generated 947,955 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. can be played in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original winnings but not jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot starts at $40,000,000.
