Friday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $22 million; One ticket won the second prize

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game continues climbing and will be up to an estimated $22 million for the upcoming drawing on Friday. The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $15.4 million. The amount was rolled over because no player hit all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win the $20 million grand prize Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, October 26th, 2021 were 06-14-19-56-62 with Mega Ball 09 and Megaplier X4.
While the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was only one lucky winner correctly matched the first five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The one lucky ticket(s) bought in , each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
In addition, 7 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 194 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. 581 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
There were 68,884 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 34442 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With nine prize levels, there were 895,288 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and D.C. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and choose 1 Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout option instead.
