No one won the jackpot. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $302,000,000

The grand prize in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game continues rising up and will be up to a projected $302,000,000 for the upcoming drawing on Friday. The cash option will be $$159.8 million. The amount was rolled over because no player matched all six numbers to win the 272,000,000 grand prize Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 drawing were 01, 21, 25, 27, 40 with Mega Ball 11 and Megaplier x2.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There were a total of 19 third prize lucky winners. These included 19 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 389 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1173 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different ways to win, there were a total of 1,542,008 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, March 21st, 2023 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. About 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 70 and pick 1 Mega Ball number from a set of 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
