Big Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

The projected jackpot for Friday night's drawing was 254,000,000. According to Mega Millions, no player hit every number and the jackpot climbed to a projected $272,000,000. The cash value will be an estimated $146.5 million. The numbers from Friday, March 17th, 2023 drawing were 26-28-29-39-49 with Mega Ball 25 and Megaplier 3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 982 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.

Although there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with huge prizes. There was only one ticket that matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) sold in MI won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Also, 20 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other winners Friday evening included 342 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 967 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.

With 9 ways to win, there were a total of 1,418,680 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, March 17th, 2023 drawing.

Mega Millions is played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system to randomly pick winning numbers. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one lump sum cash payout instead.
