The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery game continues to increase exciting players all across the nation. Because nobody correctly matched all 5 lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number in Tuesday's drawing the jackpot will increase to $229,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout stands at a projected $$120.6 million up for grab. The numbers drawn Friday night, March 10th, 2023 were 09-20-59-60-63 and the Mega Ball was 05, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 980 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.A single lucky winner from Maryland walked away with $189 million top prize in Tuesday, October 1st, 2013 drawing.
While the jackpot was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 9 lucky tickets won the third prize. These included 9 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday night included 354 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 826 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,425,760 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, March 10th, 2023 drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states and Washington DC. It holds the record biggest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prize winnings. Approximately 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system from which winning numbers are chosen. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions grand prize are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout instead.
