Friday's Mega Millions jackpot increases to $103 million; One player matched the first 5 numbers

Without a big winner in the latest drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has rolled over the jackpot to $103 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash value stands at an estimated $69.5 million. No player matched all 6 numbers to win the $91 million grand prize Tuesday. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing will be at 10:59 PM Friday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 drawing were 09-11-13-31-47 with Mega Ball 11 and Megaplier x2.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was a single second prize winner from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in , each won $1,000,000 cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Also, 12 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Also, 418 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 1211 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
There were 97,856 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 48928 top prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York. One ticket sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball with Megaplier option purchased. The lucky ticket holder will collect $20,000.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 1,142,100 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The overall chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
