No jackpot winning ticket sold. Mega Millions jackpot rolls up to $47,000,000 Friday

The jackpot in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery game continues to move up exciting players all across the nation. Because no player correctly hit all 5 lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number in Friday's drawing the jackpot will go to a projected $47,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout will be a projected $$23.9 million up for grab. The winning numbers from Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 drawing were 14, 31, 48, 57, 64 with Mega Ball 09 and Megaplier x3.
Though the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 6 3rd prize winners. These included 6 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 161 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 475 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. can be played in 44 member states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players through prizes. Roughly 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs.
