The Mega Millions game grand prize increased because no one matched all six winning numbers from Tuesday night's $193,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot increased to $209,000,000 for Friday night's drawing. The cash option stands at an estimated $$89.7 million. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, September 8th, 2026 were 17, 30, 43, 58, 66 and the Mega Ball was 20, Megaplier was . There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 152 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.A single lucky winner from IL won the $344 million top prize in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.
While there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 8 third prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. These included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Other winners Tuesday evening included 109 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 288 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 379,856 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prizes. Around 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. About 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions grand prize are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
