Big Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Tuesday night

With no winner in the latest draw, the Mega Millions lottery jackpot is going to be worth an estimated $541,000,000 (cash option $$257.6 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Tuesday. The amount rolled over since no player matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number to win the $514,000,000 grand prize Friday night. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, November 29th, 2024 were 03, 29, 34, 37, 38 with Mega Ball number 17 and Megaplier X2. The Mega Millions grand prize has been rolling over for 23 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.A single lucky winner from TX walked away with $800 million top prize in Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 drawing.
Though there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There was a sole lucky winner correctly matched the first 5 lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 lucky ticket(s) sold in OR, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other major winners Friday evening included 16 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other winners Friday night included 414 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. 1164 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Approximately 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. About 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
