The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $334,000,000

Friday's Mega Millions game grand prize will be worth a projected $334,000,000 (cash value $$155.7 million), since nobody hit all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number in Tuesday night's drawing. The winning numbers from Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 drawing were 02, 24, 25, 52, 58 and the Mega Ball was 09, Megaplier was 2. The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 16 draws since Friday, September 13th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in TX, matched all six numbers for a $800 million top prize.
Although there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were two lucky winners matched all five white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The two lucky ticket(s) purchased in CA,MI, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional major winners Tuesday night included 15 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional winners Tuesday evening included 313 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 914 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
There were 126,694 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 63347 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,458,464 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, November 5th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings are held 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The overall chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions jackpot are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one time lump-sum cash payout instead.
