Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $22 million; One ticket won the second prize

There was no ticket sold hit all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number in the last multi-state Mega Millions draw, and the projected jackpot for Friday's drawing will increase to $22 million, according to lottery officials. The cash value stands at an estimated $15 million. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, May 25th, 2021 were 14-21-31-34-54 and the Mega Ball was 11, Megaplier was 3.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There was a sole lucky winner matched all five numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) bought in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 12 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Also, 244 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 822 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
There were 91,452 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 45726 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With 9 different ways to win, there were 1,187,480 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, May 25th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. To play Mega Millions, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 70 and select a Mega Ball number from a set of 25. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
