Friday's Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $331,000,000; Three second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions drawing went to $331,000,000 for the Friday drawing. The lump-sum cash payout stands at an estimated $$153.1 million. No ticket sold for Tuesday's $306,000,000 drawing matched six numbers. The numbers drawn Tuesday night, May 7th, 2024 were 26-28-36-63-66 and the Mega Ball was 15, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 12 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
Though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were three lucky winners matched the first five numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The three second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in AZ,CA,FL will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Also, 10 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. In addition, 297 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 819 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 1,368,210 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, May 7th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record largest jackpot in North American lottery history. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70+1/25 system to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1.
