No one hit the jackpot last night. Mega Millions jackpot goes to $105 million Friday night

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Friday, when Mega Millions lottery has $105 million on the line. The cash value stands at $71.1 million. Mega Millions' grand prize increased since nobody matched all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Ball number drawn Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 drawing were 10-41-46-52-69 and the Mega Ball was 08, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 773 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
While the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 5 third prize lucky winners. These included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional winners Tuesday night included 231 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 707 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $200.
There were 91,198 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 45599 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.
With 9 ways to win, there were 1,184,692 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record largest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout instead.
