The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing soars to $496,000,000

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since no one correctly hit all five lotto numbers plus the Mega Millions number in Tuesday's drawing, the jackpot will increase to $496,000,000! The cash value stands at a projected $$232.6 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, March 3rd, 2026 were 07, 21, 53, 54, 62 and the Mega Ball was 16, Megaplier was . No one won the Mega Millions jackpot in the past 98 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.

Although the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were a total of 9 3rd prize lucky winners. Among them, 9 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 193 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 504 tickets that matched 3 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $200.

With 9 ways to win, there were a total of 591,842 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium associated with 44 state lotteries. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players in prizes. Roughly 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The odds of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
