The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $650,000,000

The jackpot in the Mega Millions multistate lottery game keeps climbing and is going to be up to a projected $650,000,000 for the next drawing on Tuesday. The cash value will be a projected $$308.6 million. The amount was rolled over because no one hit all six numbers to win the $607,000,000 jackpot Friday night. The winning numbers from Friday, March 1st, 2024 drawing were 15-33-37-55-61 with Mega Ball 24 and Megaplier X4. Nobody won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 24 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.

While there was no jackpot winner Friday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were a total of 25 third prize lucky winners. These included 25 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Additional prizes won Friday night included 512 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 1425 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

There were 199,634 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 99817 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.

With nine prize levels, there were 2,198,944 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Friday, March 1st, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system to randomly choose winning numbers. The overall chances of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The odds of winning Mega Millions grand prize are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
