Mega Millions jackpot jumps to $72 million Friday; One second prize ticket sold

Without a big winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions multistate lottery game has carried over the jackpot to $72 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash value will be $50.2 million. Nobody matched all five white ball numbers and the Mega Ball number to win the $61 million grand prize Tuesday. The next Mega Millions lottery drawing will be at 10:59 PM Friday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, June 29th, 2021 were 07-38-50-52-69 with Mega Ball number 21 and Megaplier x3. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 803 draws since Friday, October 4th, 2013.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in Maryland, matched all six numbers for a $189 million top prize.
Even though the jackpot was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single ticket that correctly matched all five white ball numbers and won the second prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in won $1,000,000 cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 9 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 210 tickets that matched four white numbers and won $500. There were 627 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 68,300 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 34150 top prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York. A single ticket sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers in addition to the Mega Ball. The lucky ticket holder will receive $1,000,000 cash.
With nine prize levels, there were 924,624 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, June 29th, 2021 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
