Friday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $47,000,000; 4 second prize tickets sold

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since no player correctly hit all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Millions number in Tuesday's drawing, the grand prize will leap to $47,000,000! The cash value will be an estimated $$21.8 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 drawing were 01-05-07-22-24 and the Mega Ball was 08, Megaplier was 4.

Although there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were 4 tickets that correctly matched all five white ball numbers and won the second prize. The 4 lucky ticket(s) bought in GA,MA,NY,PA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Also, 18 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday evening included 501 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. There were 1107 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.

With 9 different prize tiers, there were a total of 846,638 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, June 11th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players through prize winnings. About 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners may choose one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
