Friday's Mega Millions jackpot goes to $413,000,000; 1 player matched the first five numbers

With no winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions lottery jackpot will be worth a projected $413,000,000 (cash option $$182.6 million) the next time the multistate lottery is played on Friday. The amount rolled over since no one hit all six numbers to win the $392,000,000 grand prize Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 drawing were 09, 30, 36, 38, 40 with Mega Ball 03 and Megaplier x. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 126 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.A single lucky winner from IL won the $344 million top prize in Tuesday, March 25th, 2025 drawing.
Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was only one 2nd prize winner from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five lotto numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Also, 14 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 149 tickets that matched four lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 492 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine different prize tiers, there were a total of 585,968 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prizes. Around 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Each play costs $1.
