One single Mega Millions winning ticket worth $560,000,000 was sold in IL

A single lucky winner in IL is really a whole lot richer this morning after winning last night's Mega Millions lotto drawing valued at an estimated $560,000,000, officials with the multistate lottery said. The winner matched all 6 numbers drawn to claim the jackpot. The numbers from Tuesday night, June 4th, 2024 were 19-37-40-63-69 with Mega Ball number 17 and Megaplier x3. The holder of the winning ticket will now need to decide to either take the 30-installment annuity with yearly payment about $21.54 million before taxes, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $258.4 million before tax withholding. The grand prize winner is highly suggested to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claiming the prize. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Besides the jackpot awarded on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, many more people walked away with large winnings. There were two lucky winners matched the first 5 numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The two second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,MD will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 23 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 453 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. Other prizes won included 1167 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.

The new Mega Millions drawing, Friday, June 7th, 2024, will feature a jackpot of $20,000,000 with the cash option at $$9.4 million.
Mega Millions game can be played in 43 states and Washington DC. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prize winnings. About 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating states. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
