No one matched all six numbers last night. Enormous Mega Millions jackpot up for grabs Friday night

With no winner in the last drawing, the Mega Millions jackpot will be worth $251,000,000 (cash option $$118.7 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Friday. The amount rolled over since no one hit all six numbers to win the $226,000,000 grand prize Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday night, July 16th, 2024 were 05-35-42-58-66 and the Mega Ball was 22, Megaplier was 2. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 12 draws since Friday, June 7th, 2024.A single lucky winner from IL won the $560 million top prize in Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 drawing.
Even though there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. 9 3rd prize winning tickets were sold across the U.S.. Among them, 9 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.
Also, 270 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 764 tickets that matched 3 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine ways to win, there were a total of 1,234,230 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Roughly 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players in prizes. Roughly 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operating costs. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
