Mega Millions jackpot goes to $82 million; Two second prize tickets sold

Nobody hit all the Mega Millions lottery five white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball number for Friday, July 2nd, 2021 (that includes you) and the $72 million jackpot will continue to grow larger. No worries. That just gives us all an opportunity to win an even larger Mega Millions lottery prize when the next drawing happens on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021. By then the estimated grand prize will leap to $82 million. The cash value stands at $57.7 million up for grab. The numbers from Friday, July 2nd, 2021 drawing were 08-31-32-34-45 and the Mega Ball was 19, Megaplier was 2.
Even though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were two tickets that matched the first 5 numbers and won the 2nd prize. The two lucky ticket(s) sold in , each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Mega Millions is a consortium of 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Mega Millions uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) system to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times except grand prize. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions grand prize are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one time lump sum cash payout option instead.
