No jackpot ticket sold. Mega Millions jackpot increases to $400,000,000

With no winner in the last draw, the Mega Millions lottery jackpot is going to be worth an estimated $400,000,000 (cash value $$185.8 million) the next time the multistate lottery is drawn on Tuesday. The amount carried over since nobody matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball number to win the $381,000,000 jackpot Friday night. The winning numbers drawn Friday night, September 12th, 2025 were 17, 18, 21, 42, 64 and the Mega Ball was 07, Megaplier was . The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling over for 49 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.
While the grand prize was not hit Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were a total of 6 3rd prize lucky winners. These included 6 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Also, 165 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. Other prizes won included 572 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Mega Ball and won $200.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 676,068 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, September 12th, 2025 drawing.
Mega Millions is an U.S. popular lottery game offered in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. Approximately 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back on the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching all six Mega Millions numbers are 1 to 302,575,350. The minimum Mega Millions advertised grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can select one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
