Mega Millions jackpot goes to $82 million; 1 ticket won the second prize

The grand prize for Friday Mega Millions game leaped to $82 million (cash value $59.9 million) after no player matched all 6 winning numbers Tuesday night. The numbers from Tuesday, February 9th, 2021 drawing were 07-18-21-31-40 with Mega Ball number 09 and Megaplier X4.
While the grand prize was not hit Tuesday evening, some players still walked away with big money. There was only one lucky ticket matched the first 5 white ball numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the 2nd prize. The 1 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Also, 25 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 443 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 1238 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Mega Millions lottery uses a 5/70+1/25 matrix to randomly pick winning numbers. Each play costs $1.
