Mega Millions jackpot rises to $394,000,000 Friday; 3 second prize tickets sold

With no winner in the latest drawing, the Mega Millions grand prize is going to be worth $394,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$188.5 million) the next time the multistate lottery is played on Friday. The amount carried over because no one matched all 6 winning numbers to win the $365,000,000 jackpot Tuesday night. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, February 6th, 2024 were 02, 10, 31, 44, 57 with Mega Ball number 10 and Megaplier x4. No one won the Mega Millions grand prize in the past 17 draws since Tuesday, December 12th, 2023. 2 lucky players from CA(2) won the jackpot in Friday, December 8th, 2023 drawing and shared $395 million.
Though the grand prize was not awarded Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were 3 tickets that correctly matched the first five white ball numbers and won the second prize. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in CA,OH,PA will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.
Additional major winners Tuesday evening included 17 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Other prizes won Tuesday night included 337 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $500. There were 1013 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. sold in 44 member states as a shared jackpot game. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. Around 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. About 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Roughly 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can select one-time lump-sum cash payout instead.
