No jackpot winning ticket sold. Mega Millions jackpot rises to $41,000,000

The jackpot in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since no one correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers plus the Mega Millions number in Friday's drawing, the jackpot will go to an estimated $41,000,000! The cash value stands at $$20.4 million up for grab. The numbers from Friday, December 15th, 2023 drawing were 10, 20, 28, 40, 54 and the Mega Ball was 12, Megaplier was 2.
While the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. 5 third prize winning tickets were sold across the nation. These included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 184 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. There were 582 tickets that correctly matched three white ball numbers plus the Mega Ball and also won $200.
There were 82,624 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 41312 jackpot winning tickets sold in the state of New York.

Mega Millions is a consortium involving 44 state lotteries. It holds the record biggest jackpot of $656 million in United States lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back towards the players through prizes. Roughly 15% goes to retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot starts at 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners may choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
