The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Because no player correctly matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Mega Millions number in Friday's drawing, the jackpot will jump to an estimated $302,000,000! The cash option will be an estimated $$136 million. The numbers from Friday night, August 29th, 2025 were 13-31-32-44-45 with Mega Ball number 21 and Megaplier X. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 45 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.

Though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. A total of 8 lucky tickets won the third prize. These included 8 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Mega Ball and won $10,000.

Additional winners Friday night included 199 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. There were 523 tickets that matched three white ball numbers as well as the Mega Ball and also won $200.

With nine ways to win, there were 658,036 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, August 29th, 2025 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and Washington DC. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back to the players through prize winnings. Approximately 15% goes to commission of retailers and lottery operation expenses. Around 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating lottery states. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 70 and pick 1 Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The overall chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of winning Mega Millions jackpot are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly payments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
