Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot leaps to $182,000,000; One player matched the first five numbers

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since nobody correctly hit all six numbers in Friday's drawing, the jackpot will rise to an estimated $182,000,000! The lump-sum cash payout will be an estimated $$82.1 million. The numbers drawn Friday night, August 8th, 2025 were 02-06-08-14-49 with Mega Ball 12 and Megaplier X. The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing for 39 draws since Friday, March 28th, 2025.The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in IL, matched all six numbers for a $344 million top prize.

Even though the grand prize was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There was a single ticket that matched all five numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in CA will collect a quarter million dollar cash each.

In addition, 7 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. Other prizes won Friday night included 237 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers and won $500. 635 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With nine prize levels, there were 447,228 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, August 8th, 2025 drawing.

Mega Millions is played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in U.S. lottery history. Mega Millions drawings occur 2 times a week every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The minimum Mega Millions advertised jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal yearly installments. Winners may choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
