The jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing skyrockets to $374,000,000

There has been another carry over in the grand prize for the multistate Mega Millions lottery - to $374,000,000. The cash option stands at $$183.9 million up for grab. The grand prize grew since no player hit all six winning numbers from Friday night's $358,000,000 drawing. The numbers from Friday night, August 2nd, 2024 were 06, 07, 24, 44, 54 and the Mega Ball was 13, Megaplier was 4.

Even though the jackpot was not awarded Friday evening, Mega Millions did produce some big winners. There were two 2nd prize winners from Friday night's Mega Millions drawing, matching the first five numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The two lucky ticket(s) bought in CA,WA, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.

Also, 17 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. In addition, 374 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 1165 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With 9 ways to win, there were a total of 1,612,596 winning tickets sold across the nation in the Friday, August 2nd, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions lottery is played in 43 states and D.C. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the winnings 2 to 5 times but not grand prize. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize starts at $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
