Friday's Mega Millions jackpot rises to $284,000,000; 3 players matched the first 5 numbers

There has been another roll-over in the jackpot for the multistate Mega Millions - to $284,000,000. The lump-sum cash payout stands at $$127.6 million. The grand prize grew since nobody hit all six numbers from Tuesday night's $257,000,000 drawing. The numbers from Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 drawing were 10, 18, 27, 37, 61 and the Mega Ball was 05, Megaplier was 3. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past ten draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.

Though there was no grand prize winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some big winners. There were 3 lucky tickets matched the first 5 lotto numbers but missed Mega Ball number, which won the second prize. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA,MS,NY won a quarter million dollar cash each.

Also, 13 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. In addition, 333 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $500. 982 tickets matched three of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.

With nine different prize levels, there were 1,379,142 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 drawing.

Mega Millions can be played in 43 states and D.C. It holds the record highest jackpot of $656 million in North American lottery history. On average, 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players through prize winnings. Roughly 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operating costs. Approximately 35% total sales is used in government services, education and charities in the member lottery states. To play, select 5 numbers from a set of 70 and pick one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times but not jackpot. The chances of winning is about 1 to 14. The chances of matching 6 Mega Millions numbers are about 1 in 302 million. The minimum Mega Millions grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners can select one-time lump sum cash payout option instead.
