Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot builds to $202,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

The grand prize in America's favorite Mega Millions lottery is on the move. Since nobody correctly hit all five white ball numbers plus the Mega Millions number in Friday's drawing, the grand prize will rise to an estimated $202,000,000! The cash option stands at $$91.3 million. The numbers from Friday, April 19th, 2024 drawing were 19, 30, 34, 46, 58 with Mega Ball number 03 and Megaplier 3. The Mega Millions grand prize has been growing for 7 draws since Friday, March 29th, 2024.The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in NJ, matched all six numbers for a $0 million top prize.
Though there was no grand prize winner Friday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There was a sole second prize winning ticket from Friday night's drawing, matching the first 5 white ball numbers but not the Mega Ball number. The one lucky ticket(s) sold in FL, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Friday evening included 9 tickets that matched 4 white numbers as well as the Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Friday night included 308 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $500. 784 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
With 9 different prize levels, there were a total of 1,302,312 winning tickets sold across U.S. in the Friday, April 19th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions lottery can be played in 43 states and D.C. About 50% of the Mega Millions sales goes back for the players in prize winnings. About 15% is used to as retailer commissions and lottery operation expenses. Approximately 35% total sales is used to support government services, education and charities in the participating states. Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Mega Millions game uses a 5/70 (white balls) + 1/25 (Mega Balls) matrix to randomly choose winning numbers. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to pay $1 extra to purchase the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original prizes 2 to 5 times except jackpot. The minimum Mega Millions jackpot is $40,000,000. Its annuity option is paid in 30 equal annual payments. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
