Mega Millions jackpot increases to $120,000,000 Friday night; 2 second prize tickets sold

The Mega Millions multi-state lottery grand prize climbed to $120,000,000 (cash value $$55.8 million) Friday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $97,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The winning numbers from Tuesday night, April 9th, 2024 were 34-43-51-52-69 with Mega Ball 25 and Megaplier X4.
While there was no jackpot winner Tuesday evening, Mega Millions had some huge winners. There were 2 2nd prize winners from Tuesday night's drawing, matching all 5 numbers except the Mega Ball number. The 2 lucky ticket(s) purchased in KS,NY, each won one quarter million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Tuesday evening included 5 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Mega Ball and won $10,000. Additional prizes won Tuesday night included 277 tickets that matched 4 lotto numbers and won $500. 794 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. These tickets are also each worth $200.
There were 118,816 Mega Millions winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were 59408 grand prize winning tickets sold in the state of New York. One ticket sold in New York matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Mega Ball. The lucky ticket holder will receive $1,000,000 cash.
With nine prize levels, there were 1,292,862 winning tickets sold nationwide in the Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 drawing.
Mega Millions is one of the most popular lottery games in the U.S. offered in 44 participating states as a shared jackpot game. Each play costs $1. In some states, players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Megaplier option, which multiplies the original winnings 2 to 5 times but not jackpot.
