Wednesday's Powerball jackpot increases to $1,400,000,000; Twelve tickets matched the first 5 numbers

Wednesday's Powerball game grand prize will be worth an estimated $1,400,000,000 (cash value $$634.3 million), since no one matched all 6 numbers in Monday night's drawing. The winning numbers drawn Monday night, September 1st, 2025 were 08, 23, 25, 40, 53 with Power Ball number 05. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 40 draws since Monday, June 2nd, 2025. A single lucky player from CA won the 207,000,000 jackpot in Saturday, May 31st, 2025 drawing.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, some people still walked away with big money. There were twelve lucky winners correctly matched all five white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The 10 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in CA(1), FL(1), KY(1), MA(1), MI(1), NJ(2), NY(1), PA(1) and VA(1) will collect $1,000,000 cash. The other 2 second prize winner(s) from MT(1) and NC(1) also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Other prizes won Monday evening included 124 tickets that matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. 25 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 317,880 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. The lucky New York ticket won the second prize was sold from . Nine tickets sold in New York matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball. These lucky ticket holders will receive $10,000 cash each. 680 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. 87 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine different prize tiers, the Monday night's drawing generated 4,562,732 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball lottery uses a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2.
