Saturday's Powerball jackpot moves to $437,000,000; 4 second prize tickets sold

The jackpot in America's favorite Powerball lottery is on the move. Since no player correctly matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number in Wednesday's drawing, the grand prize will climb to $437,000,000! The cash option stands at an estimated $$210.3 million. The winning numbers from Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 drawing were 04, 30, 39, 44, 60 and Powerball number was 11. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 25 draws since Wednesday, August 21st, 2024. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a 44,000,000 top prize.
While there was no jackpot winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were 4 2nd prize winners from Wednesday night's drawing, matching all 5 white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The four lucky ticket(s) sold in CA(1), IL(2) and WA(1), each won $1 million cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 18 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional players not only matched 4+1, and also purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Also, 260 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 95 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the prizes to a total win of $200 each! There were 789 tickets that matched 3 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 252 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also bought the Power Play option, doulbled the winnings to $200 cash each ticket.
With nine prize levels, there were a total of 634,854 tickets across U.S. won a total of $0 prizes in the Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, select 5 numbers from a set of 69 then select 1 Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original prizes except grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize is 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners can choose one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
