Powerball jackpot moves to $163,000,000; 3 tickets won the second prize

Saturday's Powerball grand prize grew to $163,000,000, because no ticket matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball number drawn Wednesday night. The lump-sum cash payout for Saturday will be an estimated $$73.3 million. Wednesday's $146,000,000 is the total grand prize amount - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annuity. The numbers drawn Wednesday night, May 21st, 2025 were 09, 29, 31, 34, 43 with Power Ball 02.
Although the jackpot was not awarded Wednesday evening, Powerball had some huge winners. There were 3 2nd prize winners from Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, matching the first five white ball numbers but not the Powerball number. The 3 second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in KS(1), NH(1) and TX(1) will collect 1 million dollar cash.
Other prizes won Wednesday night included 4 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. In addition, 165 tickets matched 4 of the 5 lotto numbers. Those tickets are each worth $100. There were 56 tickets matched 4 white ball with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Additional prizes won Wednesday night included 452 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 151 additional tickets of this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
With 9 prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 330,358 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is an American popular lottery game offered in 44 lottery jurisdictions as a shared jackpot game. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes except jackpot. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners may select one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
