Powerball jackpot goes to $218 million Saturday, May 22nd, 2021; Two players won the second prize

Without a grand prize winner in the latest drawing, the Powerball multistate lottery game has carried over the grand prize to $218 million for Saturday night's drawing. The cash value will be a projected $149 million up for grab. No player hit all six numbers to win the $201 million grand prize Wednesday. The next Powerball drawing will be at 10:59 PM Saturday night. The numbers from Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 drawing were 11-13-55-56-69 and Powerball number was 04.
Though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were two lucky players that correctly matched all 5 white ball numbers and won the 2nd prize. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in Michigan(1) and North Carolina(1) won $1,000,000 cash.
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 16 tickets that matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 5 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other prizes won Wednesday night included 316 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 92 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! There were 870 tickets that matched three white ball numbers plus the Powerball and also won $100. 208 additional players not just matched 3+1, and also chose the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 63,875 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. A single ticket sold in New York matched 4 lotto numbers in addition to the Powerball. The lucky ticket holder will receive $10,000 cash. A single ticket sold in New York matched 4 lotto numbers plus the Powerball with Power Play option purchased. The lucky ticket holder will collect $40,000. There were 98 lucky New York players won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 12 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.
With 9 prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing created 726,768 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 and pick 1 Powerball number from 1 to 26. The minimum Powerball grand prize starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners can choose one time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
