The jackpot for Monday's Powerball drawing soars to $532,000,000

The grand prize in the multi-state Powerball drawing grew to $532,000,000 for the Monday drawing. The cash value will be a projected $$260.1 million up for grab. None of the tickets sold for Saturday's $521,000,000 drawing hit six winning numbers. The winning numbers from Saturday night, March 9th, 2024 were 30-36-49-52-63 with Power Ball 16. There was no jackpot winning ticket sold in the past 29 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a lucky ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
While there was no jackpot winner Saturday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There were three second prize winning tickets from Saturday night's drawing, matching all five white ball numbers except the Powerball number. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Florida(1) and New York(1) won 1 million dollar cash. The other one second prize winner(s) from Ohio also purchased Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
In addition, 20 tickets matched four of the five lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 78,810 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. The lucky New York ticket won the second prize was sold from . 164 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. 30 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.
With 9 different prize levels, there were 955,550 tickets nationwide won $0 prizes in the Saturday, March 9th, 2024 drawing.
America's favorite Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. To play, choose 5 numbers from 1 to 69 then pick a Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which increases the original winnings except grand prize. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years. Winners may select one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
