The grand prize for Saturday Powerball game rolled up to $138 million (cash value $96.6 million) after no one hit all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number Wednesday night. The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night, March 3rd, 2021 were 21-40-44-50-55 with Power Ball number 16. The Powerball grand prize has been growing for 110 draws since Saturday, February 15th, 2020. One lucky winner from Michigan won the $70.00 million grand prize in Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 drawing.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. 11 third prize winning tickets were sold nationwide. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 254 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 80 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! Powerball is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 then select one Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to buy the Power Play, which multiplies the original prizes except jackpot. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball grand prize are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball advertised jackpot is $40 million. Its annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments in 29 years.
