Saturday's Powerball jackpot builds to $234,000,000; Nine players matched the first 5 numbers

The grand prize in the multi-state Powerball drawing moved to $234,000,000 for the Saturday drawing. The lump-sum cash payout stands at an estimated $$106.6 million. None of the tickets sold for Wednesday's $216,000,000 drawing matched six winning numbers. The numbers from Wednesday night, July 9th, 2025 were 05, 09, 25, 28, 69 with Power Ball 05. No one won the Powerball jackpot in the past 17 draws since Monday, June 2nd, 2025. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in CA, matched all six numbers for a 207,000,000 top prize.
While the jackpot was not awarded Wednesday evening, some people still walked away with large winnings. There were nine lucky winners correctly matched the first five white ball numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The 8 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in CA(2), FL(1), IL(2), MA(2) and NE(1) will collect 1 million dollar cash. The other 1 second prize winner(s) from TX also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 15 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. 3 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied winnings 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 32,064 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There was one lucky New Yorker matched 4 white ball numbers and also the Powerball and won $10,000. 120 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. 16 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing created 416,180 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball lottery can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. The minimum Powerball jackpot starts at $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments in 29 years. Winners can choose one lump-sum cash payout instead.
