One Powerball winning lottery ticket worth $30 million was sold in New Jersey

One ticket sold in New Jersey was the only one that matched all five lotto numbers plus the Powerball to claim the $30 million muti-state Powerball lottery grand prize, lottery officials said. The numbers from Saturday, January 30th, 2021 drawing were 01-02-07-52-61 with Power Ball number 04. The jackpot winner will now have to determine to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash lump-sum in the amount of $22.5 million before tax withholding. The winning ticket holder is highly suggested to sign the ticket, put it in a safe place and contact lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner does not make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Along with the grand prize awarded on Saturday, a lot more players took home with big money. There were 4 second prize winners from Saturday night's Powerball drawing, matching all five numbers but not the Powerball number. The 2 second prize winning ticket(s) bought in Delaware won 1 million dollar cash. The other 2 second prize winner(s) from Arkansas(1) and Pennsylvania(1) also chose Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2 million cash win!
Additional prizes won Saturday night included 11 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. There were 2 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 43,139 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were two lucky New York players matched 4 lotto numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 103 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will collect $100 each. There were 12 lucky New Yorkers won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine ways to win, the Saturday night's drawing created 602,863 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
The next Powerball game grand prize is estimated at $20 million for Wednesday night. The cash option will be $15 million.
Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play, which increases the winnings except jackpot. The overall odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The odds of matching 6 Powerball numbers are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball grand prize is $40 million. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated payments. Winners can choose one lump-sum cash payout option instead.
