Monday's Powerball jackpot jumps to $133,000,000; One ticket matched the first 5 numbers

Wall Street is not the only place where fortunes are made and lost these days. One fortune will be up for grabs on Monday, when Powerball game has $133,000,000 on the line. The cash option stands at $$63.9 million up for grab. Powerball's jackpot went up because nobody hit all five lotto numbers and the Powerball number drawn Saturday night. The numbers from Saturday night, January 20th, 2024 were 16, 31, 34, 47, 65 and Powerball number was 10.
Although the jackpot was not hit Saturday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. There was only one ticket that matched the first 5 numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one second prize winning ticket(s) purchased in Florida won $1,000,000 cash.
Other major winners Saturday night included 8 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 3 tickets matched 4+1 with Power Play option, multiplying the winnings by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each! Other prizes won Saturday night included 260 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 76 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! 635 tickets matched 3 of the 5 lotto numbers, as well as the Powerball number. These tickets are also each worth $100. There were 190 tickets matched 3+1 with Power Play option, doubled the winnings to win a total win of $200 each.
There were 42,246 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There was one lucky New York player matched 4 lotto numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 59 lucky New York players won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 15 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine different ways to win, the Saturday night's drawing produced 557,472 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time. To play Powerball, pick 5 numbers from 1 to 69 and select a Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play, which multiplies the prizes except jackpot. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32. The odds of winning Powerball grand prize are about 1 in 292 million. The minimum Powerball jackpot is 40 million dollar. The annuity option is paid in 30 graduated installments. Winners can choose one lump sum cash payout instead.
