No one hit the jackpot. Saturday's Powerball jackpot moves to $77,000,000

The Powerball multi-state lottery grand prize rised to $77,000,000 (lump-sum cash payout $$36 million) Saturday night when there were no jackpot winners in the $59,000,000 drawing, lottery officials said. The numbers drawn Wednesday night, May 15th, 2024 were 19, 42, 45, 55, 69 and Powerball was 06.
Though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. A total of 10 lucky tickets won the third prize with or without Power Play. These included 9 tickets that matched four white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000.
Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 134 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 49 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash! Other prizes won Wednesday evening included 450 tickets that matched 3 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $100. 167 additional tickets at this prize level were also purchased with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash.
There were 27,080 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There was one lucky New Yorker matched 4 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and won $10,000. There were 51 lucky New Yorkers won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 9 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will receive $200 each.
With 9 different prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing produced 335,868 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball drawings are held 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. To play Powerball, choose 5 numbers from a set of 69 then pick one Powerball number from 1 to 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend $1 extra to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the winnings except grand prize. The minimum Powerball advertised grand prize starts at 40 million dollar. Its annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment payments. Winners can choose one-time lump-sum cash payout option instead.
