One lucky person bought a Powerball ticket that matched all 5 numbers and the Powerball to clinch a $1,000,000,000 jackpot. Lottery officials said the winning ticket in Wednesday night's drawing was sold in IL. The winning numbers from Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 drawing were 04, 26, 66, 67, 69 with Power Ball 09. The winner will have the choice of annuity payments for the entire prize amount of $1,000,000,000, or the cash option in the amount of $433.1 million before taxes. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a safe place and get in touch with lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the chance to select the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
