The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball drawing skyrockets to $240,000,000

Wednesday's Powerball game jackpot went to $240,000,000, since no one matched all 5 lotto numbers plus the Powerball number drawn Monday night. The lump-sum cash payout for Wednesday will be $$107.4 million. Monday's $220,000,000 is the total grand prize amount - before taxes - if the prize is taken in annual installments. The numbers from Monday night, January 6th, 2025 were 17-34-46-66-67 and Powerball number was 14.
Though the jackpot was not awarded Monday evening, some players still walked away with huge pile of cash. A total of 11 lucky tickets won the 3rd prize. 1 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
Additional prizes won Monday evening included 170 tickets that matched 4 white numbers and won $100. 60 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that doubled the prize to $200 cash! There were 489 tickets that correctly matched 3 white ball numbers as well as the Powerball and also won $100. 149 additional players not just matched 3+1, but also purchased the Power Play option, doulbled the prizes to $200 cash each ticket.
There were 32,736 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. There were two lucky New Yorkers matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 53 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers. The lucky ticket holders will receive $100 each. There were 12 lucky New York players won $200 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play purchased.
With nine prize levels, the Monday night's drawing generated 389,523 winning tickets nationwide with a total amount of $0 prizes.
