A single Powerball winning lottery ticket worth $810,000,000 was sold in Michigan

One lucky ticket in Michigan matched all 6 numbers Monday and walked away with the $810,000,000 jackpot. The numbers drawn Monday night, January 1st, 2024 were 12, 21, 42, 44, 49 with Power Ball number 01. The winner can take a cash option worth $408.9 million before taxes, or choose to receive 29-year, 30-installment annuity option. The winning ticket holder is encouraged to sign the ticket, place it in a secure place and get in touch with lottery officials as soon as possible. Jackpot winner has the opportunity to choose the cash value of the jackpot while claimng the prizes. If the winner doesn't make choice, the payment option will revert to annuity by default.
Along with the jackpot awarded on Monday, Powerball created many more happy winners walked away with big money. There were 6 second prize winning tickets from Monday night's Powerball drawing, matching all five lotto numbers except the Powerball number. The 4 second prize winning ticket(s) sold in California(1), Connecticut(1), Florida(1) and Maryland(1) will collect 1 million dollar cash. The other two second prize winner(s) from Florida(1) and Texas(1) also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2,000,000 cash win!
