Powerball jackpot jumps to $443,000,000; One second prize ticket sold

Saturday's Powerball grand prize is going to be worth a projected $443,000,000 (cash option $$210.3 million), because no one hit all 6 numbers in Wednesday night's drawing. The numbers from Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 drawing were 16, 26, 29, 38, 50 with Power Ball number 06. The Powerball jackpot has been growing for 25 draws since Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024. The last jackpot was won by a single ticket sold in Michigan, matched all six numbers for a 810,000,000 top prize.
Although the jackpot was not hit Wednesday evening, some players still walked away with large winnings. There was a sole 2nd prize winner from Wednesday night's drawing, matching the first five numbers but not the Powerball number. The 1 second prize ticket(s) from New Jersey matched all 5 white ball numbers and also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to $2 million cash win!
Additional prizes won Wednesday evening included 10 tickets that matched 4 white numbers together with Powerball and won $10,000. 3 additional tickets at this prize level were also wisely bought with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash!
There were 47,993 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. Four tickets sold in New York matched 4 white ball numbers plus the Powerball. These lucky ticket holders will collect $10,000 cash each. There were 114 lucky New Yorkers won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 26 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine prize tiers, the Wednesday night's drawing created 583,686 winning tickets across U.S. with a total amount of $0 prizes.
Powerball is an American popular lottery game can be played in 44 participating states as a pari-mutuel jackpot game. Powerball drawings occur 2 times a week every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to pay 1 extra dollar to purchase the Power Play option, which multiplies the original winnings except grand prize. The odds of winning is about 1 to 32.
