Powerball jackpot jumps to $172,000,000 Saturday; One player won the second prize

The Powerball jackpot increased because nobody hit all 6 winning numbers from Wednesday night's $154,000,000 drawing. The next jackpot increased to $172,000,000 for Saturday night's drawing. The cash value will be an estimated $$79.7 million. The numbers from Wednesday, February 12th, 2025 drawing were 21, 32, 36, 45, 49 with Power Ball 18. No one won the Powerball jackpot in the past eleven draws since Monday, January 20th, 2025. The last jackpot was won by one lucky ticket sold in OR, matched all six numbers for a 331,000,000 top prize.
While there was no grand prize winner Wednesday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There was a single lucky player that matched all 5 lotto numbers and won the 2nd prize. The one second prize ticket(s) from MS matched all 5 white ball numbers and also bought Power Play, which doubled the prize to 2 million dollar cash win!
Other major winners Wednesday night included 12 tickets that matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. 4 additional players not just matched 4+1, but in addition purchased the Power Play option, multiplying the prizes by 4 for a total win of $40,000 each!
There were 29,665 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. With nine different ways to win, the Wednesday night's drawing created 374,037 winning tickets across the nation with a total amount of $0 prizes.
America's favorite Powerball can be played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. To play, pick 5 numbers from a set of 69 and select one Powerball number from a set of 26. Each play costs $2. Players can choose to spend 1 extra dollar to buy the Power Play, which increases the winnings except jackpot. The overall odds of winning any prizes is about 1 to 32. The chances of winning Powerball grand prize are 1 to 292,201,338. The minimum Powerball jackpot is $40,000,000. The annuity option is paid in 30 yearly increment installments. Winners may select one-time lump sum cash payout instead.
