Powerball jackpot jumps to $572,000,000 Wednesday night; Two players matched the first five numbers

The grand prize in America's favorite Powerball lottery is on the move. Because no player correctly matched all six winning numbers in Monday's drawing, the jackpot will increase to a projected $572,000,000! The cash value will be an estimated $$286.7 million. The numbers from Monday, December 18th, 2023 drawing were 05, 08, 19, 34, 39 with Power Ball 26.
Although the grand prize was not awarded Monday evening, Powerball did produce some big winners. There were two lucky tickets correctly matched all 5 numbers but missed Powerball number, which won the second prize. The 2 lucky ticket(s) purchased in North Carolina(1) and New York(1), each won 1 million dollar cash by matching all 5 white ball numbers.
Other prizes won Monday evening included 10 tickets that matched 4 white numbers in addition to the Powerball and won $10,000. 2 additional tickets of this prize level were also wisely purchased with the Power Play option that multiplied the prize 4 times to $40,000 cash! Additional prizes won Monday night included 410 tickets that matched four white ball numbers and won $100. 129 additional players not only matched 4 white ball, but in addition chose the Power Play option, double the winnings to a total win of $200 each! Other prizes won Monday night included 983 tickets that matched 3 white numbers as well as the Powerball and won $100. 320 additional tickets of this prize level were also bought with the Power Play option that doubled winnings to $200 cash.
There were 55,925 Powewrball winning tickets sold in the state of New York. The lucky New York ticket won the second prize was sold from . There were 134 lucky New York players won $100 prize by matching 4 or 3+1 numbers. 21 tickets were sold in the state of New York which matched either 4 or 3+1 numbers with Power Play. The lucky ticket holders will collect $200 each.
With nine different prize levels, there were 702,128 tickets across U.S. won a total of $0 prizes in the Monday, December 18th, 2023 drawing.
Powerball game is played in 42 states, D.C. and the US Virgin Islands. Powerball game uses a 5/69+1/26 system from which winning numbers are chosen. Each play costs $2.
